Nothing is more special than the beginning of a new life together.  Engagement sessions allow you to capture your complete wedding story from start to finish.  The photos are perfect for save-the-date cards, engagement party or shower invitations, portraits and announcements.  An engagement session also gives me a chance to get to know you and your personality and for you to become comfortable with me before the big day.  Having that comfort level makes capturing your personalities on your wedding day - a very hectic day already - that much easier, and allows you to have a much more personal experience.

Engagement Session FAQs

  • Wear solid colored clothing versus stripes, florals or logos. The object is for your faces to be the star of the show. When someone looks at your engagement photos you want them to see the love in your faces, not the unusual flower print.
  • Coordinating attire is a must. For example, if you are wearing light colored jeans do not put your groom in dark colored jeans. Plus, you should try to match your tops as much as possible.

  • Hair and makeup should be considered, but do not go overboard with product. Your hair and makeup should appear soft and natural for the camera.

  • If you have a dark or pale complexion, stay away from contrasting colors (whites and blacks). The contrast makes the facial features less defined.

  • Practice your favorite type of smile. We all have different smile some we like some not so much. Know which one you like.

  • Engagement photo sessions take about 2-4 hours to complete. This allows for up to 2 locations for your session, so think about anywhere that has special meaning to you!

Wedding FAQs

  • Rates are by the hour or by package.  If you're interested in a custom quote, visit my contact page and request more information.  I'll be happy to send them your way.
  • Every wedding couple gets full-sized JPEG’s to print without any watermarks via download.

  • It typically takes 4-6 weeks to get your photos back to you.   I try my hardest to return them earlier than that, but with the other sessions I do, and life getting in the way, sometimes it takes the full 6 weeks.

  • I photograph throughout your whole wedding day, and you don’t need the testing images, light setup images, out of focused images, one eye opened and the other half closed, duplicate images, the awkward horse face laugh, etc.  You get the point.  SO, you will not receive EVERY photo that is taken that day.

  • The number of photos you receive will depend on how many hours you select in your wedding package, if we have to travel from place to place, if the bride or groom arrives two hours late, if you have a large wedding or a small intimate wedding, or even an elopement in the woods, but typically 75-100 images per hour.

  • You are welcome to provide image/posing requests - ideas from Pintrest, etc - prior to your wedding day.  I am happy to incorporate any shots you want into your session.  This is YOUR day.  For formal portraits, I work off of a list of standard shots but love it when you throw in your own ideas.  I only ask for advance notice.

  • If you're ready to reserve your date, look over my packages and information and tell me what you want.  Then, return the signed contract with a 25%, non-refundable deposit (check, paypal, cash) and you're all set.  I cannot reserve your date until both the contract and the deposit are received.

  • Upon final payment and delivery of images, limited copyright ownership of the resulting images will be transferred to you under the following conditions:

    • you have the right to personally print your images wherever you want, though, I cab offer lab printing assistance for special products such as albums and canvases, and in-studio printing for prints up to 11x14.  The photographs are your property for personal use and for the purposes of the reproduction and giving of photographs to friends and relatives.

    • Any photographs uploaded online will be clearly and distinctly attribute credit to "Leigh Anne Dixon/Half Pint Photography".
